Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. We identify materials by properties—what they are like and how they behave.
Try it together
Compare safe household materials such as water, oil, salt, sugar, paper clips, plastic, and foil. Make a table for state, magnetism, solubility in water, and other safe properties.
